Look Through The Cracks

Barry M have a nail polish titled 'Nail Effects' it gives this really cute crackle effect to your nail. It's different every time. OPI came out with a nail polish with the same effect a while after in the Katy Perry collection called 'Black Shatter' (i think!) i have heard they are both similar quality but OPI being a bit better, I haven't gotten my hands on the OPI one yet but i hope to.

This is defiantly a nail look that gets people talking, when i wear it people ask questions, they notice it and compliment it. It keeps on being a conversation started at the checkout in the shops!

I defiantly love the effect of the nail polish and think that it will be great for an edge to otherwise girly nail polish colours.

You have to paint your nails with a colour first then apply this on top. Watch it crackle! Then apply a top coat.

I have also found that if you blow on it while it crackles you can get a more crackly effect.
I do recommend using a topcoat as it can make the nail polish chip.

In the picture i am wearing a non branded beige colour, after the nail effects polish i applied a glitter topcoat by BYS in 'Gold Digger'

The Barry M one retails at £3.95 and it's worth every penny in my opinion.

The Bow In Your Hair

So everyone is wearing them, and i love them! I guess it's a modern take on the 80's fashion trend. You can get them everywhere the three places where i have found the cutest ones are Primark, Newlook or H&M with the highest price around £5. You can wear them with your hair up, down, curly, straight, wavy, really anyway you want.

The generally come with wire in them and are easy to shape to your head.

If you want to make your own without having to go out and buy one I'll tell you how! This is the simplest way.

I do textiles and art at school for my GCSE's so i usually always have different types of fabric in the house. So all you have to do is take a piece of fabric, width wise it can be short but it has to be longer in length to fit around your head. Everyones head's are different sizes so just kind of play around with different lengths.

Cut a strip of fabric double the width you want it to show on your head, so when you wear it, it is doubled over.

When i did mine i made it messy and have a rough edge but you can make it perfectly neat if you want.

And that's it!

Although most in the shops have wire it isn't necessary to have wire in them, this method you don't have to do any stitching either by hand or machine. It literally takes two minutes if that.

Try it out and tell me what you think and how you got on.

They look cute and can be an easy accessory to any outfit.
You can't see the design on mine very well but it's a cute ditsy floral print, with pale pinks and whites.
